An excerpt from an article written up on me and my business. This article was written in the SLCC's publication, The Globe, highlighting a student and member of the community who is making a difference. It highlights what I am trying to create and helps you understand why I am so passinate about health.
"Cox gained experience as a fitness instructor working for Gold’s Gym where she became certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Cox has since opened her own business, Carrie Cox Fitness LLC. She’s discovered that she really enjoys training women. She especially enjoys seeing them gain self confidence as she helps them transform their bodies and become more healthy.
She realized that teaching group fitness classes made her rates more affordable for the average woman, which allowed more women the opportunity to gain from personal fitness instruction. This inspired her five week boot camp fitness classes for women.
“I think life is all about application. We are capable of so much,” Cox says. “I just apply myself. Now, I believe I can do things,”

"Before starting with Carrie I weighed more than I ever have in my life and the numbers on the scale just kept creeping higher and higher. I was avoiding mirrors and any situation that required me to wear anything less than a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. I knew I needed to do something different in my life but I was so intimidated by huge muscly men at the gym that that wasn’t a very good option for me. Then I heard about Carrie’s boot camp and decided to give it a go. From the very first class I have always felt at ease and more importantly part of a group all striving for the same goal. I am now on my 3rd five week boot camp session with Carrie and I absolutely love it! I have seen a huge transformation not only in my body but also my self-esteem. I went from 23% body fat down to 15%! My husband can hardly keep his hands off me. I have more energy to get things done around the house now; my husband and kids love the new me! Also with the help of my nutrition plan that Carrie personalized for me, I’ve adjusted my diet considerably. I am now incapable of eating at fast food places like McDonalds. I look forward to going to class each time and find myself counting down the days until I get to go again. Carrie has an amazing talent for not only teaching you ways to exercise and improve your lifestyle but for making you want to do it and follow through. I would absolutely recommend her program to any woman looking to make some healthy changes in their lives."

She is always very aware of my limitations but she always encourages and challenges me to do a little bit more each workout. When I started weight training I was afraid of getting hurt but with Carrie's help I now know how to lift weights correctly and I can feel how much stronger I am getting. Thanks to Carrie I have more stamina, my arthritis seems to be improving and I can now get down on the floor and play with my very young grandchildren!"
